A country song written in mid-2021 during the great estrangement. The first verse is blackpilled 4chan psychology. Turn away from the black sun. The second verse is about mainstream television news media. Cuomo's face comes to mind when I sing these lines. The third is rehashed poetry.
Chords during the verse are Am D, then turnaround F G back to Am. The chorus is D Am, then C G D Am F G Am.
The production is simple, with two acoustic guitars panned hard left and right. Piano, bass, click, and vocals are in the center. The piano and click midi is generated by code, but all other elements are single takes. The banjo solo is improvised and somewhat loose. I couldn't get the vocals quite right, and eventually the vocal element is a single take on an SM58 with playback on the monitors.
The influences here are Johnny Cash and Hank III.
There is a simple lyric video which I will publish when I can. In the meantime, turn away.
I'm going to listen to this song a few more times...I was really impressed with your voice on this track.
It's very deep and rich and, well, very Johnny Cash-ish. I also like the idea of introducing your song as a way of knowing where you were when you wrote the lyrics, how it blended & how you produced it with the instruments...bravo!
